Day 1: Seattle Arrival
You arrive in Seattle and transfer to your hotel. The soul of Seattle resides in its downtown area, where modern museums and landmarks are interspersed with historic areas, markets, espresso stands and shopping and entertainment district. Overnight.
Day 2: Seattle - Spokane
This morning you pick up your bike at EagleRiders’ Seattle location and are on your way to Spokane. Head east and ride via Snowqualmie Pass, a popular recreation area at the crest of the Cascade Range. Cross through Snowqualmie National Forest and on to Ellensburg, situated in the middle of Kittitas Valley. Today’s destination is Spokane, the state’s second largest city, where you can still find that pioneering spirit. Early settlers quickly spread the word that a trip to Spokane meant warm hospitality as well as profitable business dealings. The active little trading post was the first non-Indian habitation of the Pacific Northwest. Overnight.
Day 3: Spokane - Kelowna
From Spokane pick up Hwy 395 and you are on your way to Canada. Your ride will take you via Chewalah and Colville. Fort Colville, built at Kettle Falls in 1825, served as the chief center of trade in the northwest for the Hudson’s Bay Company. Enter Canada and you find yourself in the Grand Forks area, where you head west toward Osoyoos, an area similar to Spain in climate and terrain. You are in the Okanagan Valley, which is blessed with fertile soil and sunny weather. The Okanagan’s picturesque hills are British Columbia’s premier wine-producing region. You ride up to Kelowna, the center of the fruit and vineyard region around Lake Okanagan – a third of all apples harvested in Canada come from here. The lake is also known for its legendary monster, the Ogopogo, a Loch Ness type beast. Overnight.
Day 4: Kelowna - Kamloops
This morning you might want to explore the Okanagan Lake area further, as you don’t have too many miles to Kamloops. Enjoy a most scenic ride along the shores of the lake and stick with Hwy 97, which will take you into Kamloops. Named after the Indian word “cumcloups”, or “the meeting of waters”, the place was founded in 1812 as a North West Co. depot. Kamloops then developed where the north and south branches of the Thompson River converge to form Kamloops Lake. Overnight.
Day 5: Kamloops - Vancouver
Today you are in for a real treat. From Kamloops head west and ride to Ashcroft, where you will enter the intensely scenic Sea To Sky Highway (Hwy 99). Hwy 99 winds through five distinct bio-geo-climatic zones in the Vancouver, Coast and Mountains region of BC, from coastal rainforest at Horsehoe Bay, through Squamish, Garibaldi Provincial Park, and the Resort Municipality of Whistler. Something magical happens when you arrive at the summit of the small valley that contains Whistler. A cluster of lakes is gathered here, reflecting the outline of the mountains high above. Continue your most scenic ride – and stick with Hwy 99 – all the way into Vancouver, your base for the next two nights. Overnight.
Day 6: Vancouver
You have all day to enjoy the crown jewel of western Canada, Vancouver. The city is dotted lavishly with greenery, posed against the rugged peaks of the perpetually blue Coast Range and ringed with sparkling Pacific waters. Vancouver’s character is West Coast with a liberal Oriental essence. The city’s Chinatown is second only to San Francisco’ s in size in Northern America. Vancouver is the financial, industrial, shipping and cultural center of Canada’s west coast. The city has much that is reminiscent of other parts of Canada and much of Europe as well as the Orient and the United States. The resulting blend is happy, carefree and relaxed. Overnight.
Day 7: Vancouver - Seattle
Today you are crossing the border back into the US. Your ride will take you via Bellingham and Mt. Vernon, named after President George Washington’s Potomac River home. Mount Vernon dates back to a trading post established on the banks of the Skagit River in 1870. Perhaps you want to make a stop in Everett to visit the Boeing production facility. Once you are back in Seattle, it will be time to return your bike at EagleRider’s Seattle office and transfer to your hotel. Overnight.
Day 8: Seattle Departure
Today your most exciting trip will come to an end with your departure flight back home.
