  • Year after year, readers of the top international travel magazines vote Maui “The World’s Best Island,” in large part because Maui boasts sights that satisfy the most demanding adventurers.
  • Here are emerald rainforests and the moon-like vistas of Mt. Haleakala, the rolling Alpine-like meadows of Upcountry and the jagged cliffs and cascading waterfalls of the West Maui Mountains.
  • Not to mention Maui’s sister isle, Molokai, home to the world’s tallest sea cliffs!
  • Yet most of Maui’s magnificent hidden secrets are inaccessible except by air, and nobody knows how to show them to you like Blue Hawaiian.

West Maui Mountains

The grand and awesome beauty carved into the mountain that is West Maui.
Relatively few people, even locals, know of the grand and awesome beauty carved into the mountain that is West Maui. One can drive to the mouth of Iao valley to catch a small glimpse of the magnificent rain forest and towering valley walls which lace the entire mountain. This flight explores one hidden valley after the next and is the only possible way to come to know the real Maui. Knife-edged ridges with mist-shrouded peaks separate the spectacular valleys that give Maui its nickname, "The Valley Isle". Waterfalls cascade from towering cliffs into the streams running along the rainforest floor. If clouds and rainfall happen to be a part of your adventure, the waterfalls and rainbows can be even more spectacular. This tour is heart-thumping beauty from start to finish.
  • American Eurocopter EC130 "Eco-Star":
Every seat offers greater personal space, first-class individual seats, and expansive glass for exceptional visibility. This is the world's newest and most expensive model of touring helicopter, and the first specifically designed for air tours. It is utilized by only two companies in Hawaii: Blue Hawaiian and Sunshine Helicopters

The EC130 is also available in a 7-seat configuration to accommodate families.

Note that Sunshine Helicopters has renamed their EC130 "Whisper-Star." The American Eurocopter EC130 is powered by a Turbomeca Arriel 1B engine rated at 848 Shaft Horse Power.
    • American Eurocopter AS350 "A-Star":
Less personal space than the Eco-Star but with a similar open cabin design for 180º views from each seat. Somewhat less viewing glass than the Eco-Star. This model is utilized by the majority of air tour operators in Hawaii, including Blue Hawaiian, Sunshine, Air Maui, Alexair, Makani Kai, Jack Harter, Island Helicopters, Safari Aviation and Hawaii Helicopters.

The AS350 is the most utilized tour helicopter in the world, and all of them look virtually the same. The only significant difference is the type of engine employed. There are four variants of this model:
      • AS 350B2: Used by Blue Hawaiian and Safari Aviation. This is the most powerful model A-Star and is an original manufacturer model. Employs the Ariel 1D1 engine rated at 712 Shaft Horse Power.
      • AS 350BA: Used by Air Maui, Makani Kai, Jack Harter and Island Helicopters. This is an original manufacturer model. Employs the Ariel 1B engine rated at 641 Shaft Horse Power.
      • AS 350FX: Used by Sunshine and Makani Kai Helicopters. This is not an original manufacturer model but utilizes an FAA approved conversion to the Honeywell LTS 101 600 engine rated at 650 Shaft Horse Power. AS 350 AllStar: Used by AlexAir. This is not an original manufacturer model but utilizes an FAA approved conversion to the Allison 250-C30M engine rated at 650 Shaft Horse Power.  The cabins in all of these AS350 models are quite similar, but Blue Hawaiian's A-Stars afford increased comfort – with BOSE® aviation-grade noise-cancelling headsets, passenger microphone, inside camera integrated to the live tour video, and more. Safety enhancements for the pilot include a state-of-the-art terrain awareness warning system and emergency pop-out floats to enable safe landing on water.

        Spectacular Views and More!
Kanaha Pond Wildlife Sanctuary is located between Kahului airport and the harbor. It is a very important fresh water wildlife sanctuary in the middle of the Pacific encompassing a 143-acre preserve and nesting site for endangered and migratory birds. World War Two bunkers remain a prominent feature. Walking paths circle the perimeter of the wetland sanctuary through a shaded forest with native plants.

Iao valley State park is one of the highlights of Maui which can be reached by car via the road from Wailuku. Kepaniwai park lies just before reaching the main parking lot for Iao. Kepaniwai means "damning of the waters" named after all of the Maui warriors slain in the famous battle in which Kamehameha conquered Maui in 1792. It is said that the waters of Iao stream ran red with thier blood.

Maui's tallest waterfall at over 1100 feet high is located at the very head of the deep and lush Honokohau Valley in the West Maui Mountains.

One of a number of beautiful valleys that go to the heart of West Maui. The valley floor is covered in Kukui nut trees, the State tree of Hawaii. 'Kukui' means 'light' in the Hawaiian language. The early English called them candle nut trees as the oily nut was burned in torches.

        Pricing Policy
