- Days 1-2: Travel to Norway and discover the irresistible charm and eccentricity of Oslo
Welcome to Norway!
Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting in the evening of Day 1. You can arrive at any time during the day as there are no activities planned until this important meeting; please check with the hotel reception where and when it will take place, or check the reception notice boards. If you can't arrange a flight that will have you arrive at the hotel by early evening, you may wish to arrive a day early so you're able to attend. We'll be happy to book additional accommodation for you (subject to availability). If you're going to be late, please inform the hotel reception. We'll be collecting your insurance details and next of kin information at this meeting, so please ensure you have all these details to provide to your leader.
Travel to nearby Holmenkollen for a short hike on the plateau. Visit the Ski Museum, housed inside the monumental Holmenkollen ski jump. Highlights include the history of skiing over the past 4,000 years, famous Norwegian polar expeditions and lesser known glimpses from the Winter Olympics at Oslo and Lillehammer.
With so much to see and do in Oslo, we recommend you plan to arrive a few days before the trip begins, so you can see as much of the city as possible.

- Days 3-4: Make tracks to the alpine playground of Lillehammer
Travel by train to Lillehammer (approx 2.5 hrs) Famous for hosting the 1994 Winter Olympics, Lillehammer is an ideal spot for outdoor activities and has a fascinating outdoor museum and charming town center. Join an orientation walk and visit the Trollhaugen Open Air Museum.

- Days 5-6: Be captivated by the sight of crisp mountain peaks reflected in the glassy waters of Sogne
Travel by bus to the fjord region (approx 5 hours) Take a boat trip through Naeroyfjord, a Unesco World Heritage site. The name Naeroyfjord takes its origins from the norse god Njord, the god of seafarers and the sea.
The typical Norwegian huts that we stay in are surrounded by steep cliff walls with crystal clear waterfalls falling from the top of the fjords. Accommodation has electricity, running water, some rooms have private and some have shared (mixed) toilets/shower facilities.

- Days 7-8: Arrive in Bergen, a quirky city with a host of so many things
Today we travel by bus (approx. 6hrs) to Bergen. Bergen was founded in 1070 and flourished as an important trading center under the influence of the Hanseatic League from the 14th century. The Bryggen area of the city is inscribed on the Unesco World Heritage list, and we'll explore it along with the old Hanseatic port area.

- Days 9-11: Absorb the timeless beauty of Stockholm, the ‘Venice of the North
Transfer to the airport for our short flight to Stockholm. The capital of Sweden has long been the cultural, political and economic centre of the country. This beautiful city, sometimes referred to as 'the Venice of the north', has a great deal to offer visitors with its architecture, parks and clear waters.
Visit the The Vasa Museum on the island of Djurgården in central Stockholm. The warship Vasa sank on her maiden voyage in Stockholm 1628 and was salvaged in 1961. As one of the most visited sights in Sweden, the Vasa Museum collection consists of the Vasa itself and all of the objects that were found with the ship. During free time consider a guided walk or boat tour around the city. Alternatively take a day trip to Uppsala.

- Days 12-13: Take time out aboard a ferry to the Aland Islands
Travel by bus to Kappelskar and then transfer to ferry to the Aland Islands (approx. 4hrs). An archipelago in the Baltic Sea, the Aland Islands consist of 6,500 skerries and islands, has a very flat terrain and is part of Finland but speaks Swedish.
There is free time to explore more of the Aland islands before we board an overnight ferry bound for Helsinki.
The ferry has shops, bars and restaurants. The cabins are based on quad share which are usually bunk beds. Each cabin has a private bathroom.

- Days 14-15: Final Day - Discover a wealth of historical sights and gastronomic wonders in Helsinki.
Surrounded by the sea, Helsinki is a modern European city that offers an endless array of options. Throughout its 450-year history, Helsinki has often been the buffer between the East and West. The hallmarks of history can be seen everywhere, from the magnificent Suomenlinna Sea Fortress to the cutting-edge architecture of the 21st century.
There are no activities planned for the final day and you are able to depart the accommodation at any time. Please check the 'Finishing Point Hotel' section for checkout times and luggage storage possibilities.
