Powder 215: Film School at Gothics Lodge

If the recent explosion in the use of GoPro helmet cameras has taught us anything, it is that we have probably reached the aesthetic limit of point-of-view photography. The Gothics is one of CMH's larger areas, so Gothics skiers enjoy a rich selection of runs.
Home to Nomads North | Super value | Just 3 groups!

The Gothics is one of CMH's larger areas, so Gothics skiers enjoy a rich selection of runs: excellent tree skiing and spectacular alpine runs and open glaciers. To fully optimize the wide variety of terrain (and increase the skiing for our guests!) the Gothics caters to just 33 skiers. With a quicker pace and turn around between runs, Gothics is suitable only for physically fit, experienced skiers and snowboarders who enjoy a faster pace.

Note: Skiers and boarders who are new to CMH are welcome at the Gothics if they are strong and physically fit and enjoy a faster pace.

Gothics Lodge is named after the granite mountains whose steeple-like spires are reminiscent of Gothic cathedrals. Several microclimates in the spires give skiers numerous options no matter the weather, avalanche stability or snow conditions.

The fun carries over to the lodge where you can socialize with your new ski friends & our amazing staff. A week in the Gothics is always a memorable holiday experience; just ask one of our many loyal Gothic Guests, they’ll be happy to tell you!

Days 1-5: Powder 215 - Film School
If the recent explosion in the use of GoPro helmet cameras has taught us anything, it is that we have probably reached the aesthetic limit of point-of-view photography. But that's OK, because clever videographers like your professor, Guy Clarkson, will teach you a raft of shooting and editing tricks that will change the reaction of your ski-video audience from Boo to Boo-yeah! Not only is Clarkson an award-winning filmmaker whose action features have rolled everywhere from the BBC to the History Channel, he's also a 28-yr veteran CMH Heli-Ski guide who knows exactly what skiers want to see and how to capture that through the lens.

Details: The trips are limited to 9 skiers/riders with 2 guides and a Bell 212 helicopter that will be shared with the other skiers/riders. Additional skiing above the guaranteed vertical is $110/1,000 metres (3,280 vertical feet).
