Thousands of acres of lakes and streams and hundreds of miles of trails add up to big adventure in north central Arkansas' Ozark National Forest.
In the heart of the Ozarks, you'll find the state's tallest mountains carved and shaped by limestone bluffs, faults, cracks, caves, and bridges. The International Mountain Bike Association has also recently found this place, declaring the area's newly-built Syllamo trail system an "IMBA Epic." Lacing together the White and Buffalo Rivers, these "epic" mountain bike trails reveal other epic adventures as well.
Hiking through old growth hardwood forests, we find misty fern beds and exposed ridges. Canoeing on America's first national river, we paddle by natural springs, bridges, and waterfalls. Caving at Blanchard Springs, we uncover multiple levels of wild and living caverns. And, in visiting the local mountain village, we are met with down home hospitality and good times at Mountain View, the folk music capital of the world.
