Advanced Class III-V. The pioneer whitewater enthusiasts who first ran this northern section of the Arkansas didn't bother to label rapids with intimidating names describing their thrills. They are simply numbered, but you may lose track counting off the 8 rapids on this section. Each Class III-V rapid is punctuated by continuous whitewater in between, including a steep ledge drop into No. 5. Lunch included. 

The paddling demands good physical condition and a minimum age of 15 years. 

Recommended Gear List: 
  • Footwear: Bring shoes that stay securely on your feet and can get wet. NO FLIP-FLOPS AND NO CROCS ALLOWED. 
  • Swimsuit to wear under wetsuit. 
  • Sunglasses and strap to secure glasses. 
  • Sunscreen and lip balm with sunscreen. 
  • Additional Layers: Lightweight, quick-drying clothing. 
  • Water Bottle

We were signed up for The Numbers Arkansas River white water rafting trip but the water was too high so the trip was revised to The Narrows into Browns Canyon rafting trip. I was absolutely terrified of the "big" water and let my guide John know this right away. The whole trip experience was amazing from beginning to end. The splash jackets/wetsuits for free EXCELLENT offering! Our guide was experienced, talked us through every single rapid and made me feel so comfortable I actually enjoyed the big rapids in between my screams :) Thanks John!
