I enjoyed the tour and the tour guide was excellent and very informative. I would recommend the tour to any one who enjoys Chinese food.

In spite of the snow, it was truly wonderful and our guide, Bart was so great. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

This was the second tour that we have done with Foods of New York, and we enjoyed it every bit as much. This tour was more food-oriented; it included three sit-down mini-meals, all of which were delicious and interesting. The meals were accompanied by useful explanations of the culinary traditions and the methods of preparation. Our tour guide, Bert, was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to; he welcomed questions and could usually answer them. He also led us through some of the streets and alleys of Chinatown, explaining the history of evolution of the neighborhood. He encouraged us to try some of the local delicacies, but he was kind enough to warn us about the strangeness of some of the flavors and textures -- forewarned was forearmed. The only thing I would have liked added was a recommendation of where to shop for local specialties -- linens, jewelry, gifts, etc. We would certainly recommend this tour, and we will do another tour with this company when we are back in New York City again.

I loved this tour, the food was delicious, the tour guide was fun, funny and very knowledgable. I am hoping to bring more people to China town because of this tour and it is what I was looking for: a fun way to spend the day with some friends while gaining ideas for further eating in China Town. The only thing I would have liked is more food choices at the last restaurant we went to. It was good that I didn't eat so much I felt ill, btu I would have liked to try more than just two dishes at the last restaurant. thanks!

I got my husband tickets for this tour as a Christmas gift. I had high expectations because we had tried the same company's Greenwich Village tour a few years ago and absolutely loved it. This tour did not disappoint! We had a great time, and our tour guide Bert was wonderful. He was friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable. We live in New York and have been wanting to spend more time in Chinatown but were intimidated and didn't know where to start. This tour was perfect. We not only got to try a few restaurants, but we also got many recommendations from Bert and from the neighborhood guide they give you as part of the tour. We're already making plans to go back to some of the recommended restaurants with friends and family. It was great to learn about not only the food but also the neighborhood and the history. I would definitely recommend this tour for locals and tourists alike. Thanks for a great Saturday, Bert!

The Chinatown tour was one of the best things I've ever done in NYC. Tourguide Burt was incredibly knowledgable about the food and neighborhood and gave a fun presentation. The dim sum and peking duck were fantastic. We now have two new great restaurants on our roster, plus a list of others to try that Burt pointed out. It was very fun to see little areas we didn't know existed. I would highly recommend the tour and Burt specifically for both tourists and locals.

Combine insider access with exceptional, authentic cuisine ... toss in great humor, fun facts, and an energetically clever guide for...one delightful, active and story-filled morning. Even the New Yorkers in the group were swept away by this insider vantage...not to be missed!

Chinatown can be very intimidating. All the signs are in Chinese, many locals do not speak English, and there are hundreds and hundreds of restaurants. This tour does a great job of explaining the area and its history, handpicking dishes at restaurants and pointing out other places worth a visit on a return trip. The food was fabulous at every stop and Burt was a very knowledgeable and down-to-earth guide. He made everyone comfortable and had really wonderful information about the area, the food and the people. After being on the tour I'm confident that I can go back to the neighborhood and explore without feeling like I'm out-of-place and I am really excited to get back there and do that. I'm not sure that the visit and time spent in the apothecary/health store was worth while. I think that time would have been better spent outside on the streets learning a bit more about the buildings and the history of the neighborhood. Other than that it is a great tour!

We had a great time. Our guide Burt was knowledgeable, informative, interesting and did an excellant job. The food and choice of restaurants was outstanding. Our experience was enhanced with Burt's details regarding the various dishes we were being served along with interesting tid bits of history regarding Chinatown. We have already told, neighbors, friends and family about the good time we had. We are planning to go on the Village tour next, which was highly recommended by one of the couples we met from our group.

I've lived in NYC for ten years, and I had just as much fun on this tour--and learned just as much--as the tourists in the group. Our guide, Raheem, was really knowledgeable and shared tons of fascinating stories about Chinatown, Chinese culture and Chinese-American culture, and more. The food was incredible. It was a great way to find out where the best restaurants are in a neighborhood that I don't know very well. I'll definitely be going back for more dumplings as soon as possible! This tour is a perfect activity to do with out-of-town guests, but it's great for NYers, too (if you can swallow your pride and allow yourself to be seen following a tour guide around). No matter how much you think you know about this incredible city we live in, there's always more to learn.

Have taken all of the tours except NoHo ( will do it on our next trip to NYC) and all have been great--this one is no exception. Having lived in the area for a number of years Bert (sp.) was very knowledgeable about the history of the area, the cuisine and some of the "nooks and crannies" we would never know or learn about. Highly recommend this tour.

Great tour....Loved the tour guide named Bert. He was incredibly knowledgeable and funny. Food was great especially the dumplings.......Look forward to doing it again next year.

We had been on the company's Greenwich Village walking tour in the past and since we had friends in town for Thanksgiving we thought we'd try it again. To our (initial) disappointment there wasn't availability on any of the tours apart from the China Town walk, which we were actually in two minds about because we aren't avid fans of this type of cuisine. In the end we trusted the reviews we read on Zerve and booked it and we're really glad we did. Burt was an extremely engaging tour guide with a clear passion for his job which made the tour tremendously enjoyable. There wasn't a lot of walking (the entire tour takes place below Canal Street) but the food was excellent and we learned a lot about the history of the local area. Two thumbs up!

Food was wonderful, especially Dim Sum Go Go and Peking Duck, our tour guide (Bert) was very informative and funny. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
