Ecuador - High Altitude Climbing Adventure (9-Day and 14-Day Trip)

A high altitude mountaineering expedition to the Volcanoes of Ecuador. Includes climbing Chimborazo and Cotopaxi as well as Cayambe. Chimborazo, a 6,000 meter peak that is the farthest point from the center of the earth.
A high altitude mountaineering expedition to the Volcanoes of Ecuador. We offer two trips:
  • A 9-day Cotopaxi & Cayambe trip
  • An extended 14-day trip that adds on Chimborazo.
Cotopaxi is one of the most beautiful mountains in the world and a truly spectacular mountain climb and Cayambe is also a challenging, but technically easy peak. The Chimborazo extension adds an additional mountaineering challenge for those with some previous mountaineering experience.

We are now offering two sets of dates to coincide with the best climbing season for the Ecuador Volcanoes, late spring and late fall.

Ecuador climbing can be among the best in the world. Experience the rich Ecuadorian culture while gaining valuable high altitude mountaineering experience. Come join us on one of our favorite international climbing trips this spring and falll. Climbing the Ecuador volcanoes with a highly trained and internationally certified American mountain guide is a perfect trip for those who just want a taste of high altitude climbing or for those with even larger mountains and mountaineering expeditions in mind.

Climbing Chimborazo, Cotopaxi & Cayambe requires basic ice axe and crampon skills. Your American mountain guide will review all the glacier skills necessary to climb these magnificent Ecuador volcanoes.

We provide private ground transportation utilizing a local logitics company throughout Ecuador and our lodging choices are among the finest with your comfort and enjoyment in mind. We also build in flexibility into our itinerary in case of inclement weather..

    Level:
Participants on the Cotopaxi & Cayambe 9-day trip are not required to have any previous mountaineering experience although it is recommended. For the Chimborazo add-on, climbers are required to have previous ice axe and crampon experience. For all the climbs, you must be in very good physical shape.
