Tour Glacier while backpacking with Dan Voermans, our oldest guide. The trip calls for fit and friendly seniors looking for a relaxing, yet challenging backpacking trip with Dan. Preference will be given to National Park Senior pass holders as Dan will be getting his senior pass (what he likes to call his "Last Best Deal") in July and advises using yours in the "Last Best Place"!
Backpackers can expect the trip mileage to vary from 5 to 10 miles a day, and a daily gain of roughly 500 to 800 feet in elevation, while more strenuous days will feature gains of 2000 to 3000 feet. Your backpack will weigh around 35 to 40 pounds. You will experience the alpine and subalpine meadows, take in the flora and fauna, and maybe even see some wildlife; all of this while you gaze up at Glacier's breathtaking peaks. Dan will point out features of interest on the trail and identify both plant and animal life. You'll be camping in Glacier's beautiful, remote backcountry campgrounds where you'll enjoy delicious meals and be able to relax after a challenging day of hiking.
