Experience the spectacular mountain scenery in Patagonia’s Lakes District as we travel between Argentina and Chile (or vice versa). From the Swiss style town of Bariloche, we explore the beautiful mountains and we commence our spectacular traverse of the Andes by boat and bus to Puerto Montt.

Note:The trip itinerary can be done in reverse.

DAY 1: Arrive Bariloche

On arrival in the lakeside town of Bariloche, famous for its stunning views over Lake Nahuel Huapi and chocolate, you will be transferred to your hotel in Bariloche. The remainder of the day is free for personal exploration of this delightful town.

Day 2: Bariloche – Pampa Linda - Bariloche

This morning we are driven to Pampa Linda where our mountain guide will take us on a day hike in an area of outstanding beauty – many people compare it to the European Alps. Today is a long day and depending upon conditions, it is not unusual to arrive back to Bariloche at 6-7pm, so please pack some extra snacks. Today’s journey is spectacular and rugged, and usually requiring a 4WD to get us up the mountainous road to Pampa Linda.

Day 3: Bariloche to Peulla

This morning we drive to Puerto Pañuelo to join the 2 day lakes crossing which combines a series of boat trips and bus transfers, and allows us the opportunity to visit the highlights of the area. This is a very special full day boat journey that takes us from the shores of Bariloche across Lake Nahuel Huapi to the Chilean shore and a short drive to Peulla. At Peulla, time permitting (subject to boat schedule) it is possible to undertake a number of activities at extra cost if you wish. Overnight in Peulla.

Day 4: Trip concludes to Puerto Varas or Puerto Montt

Today we sail across the Lake Todos los Santos, continuing by bus to Puerto Varas & onward to Puerto Montt. The trip concludes on arrival in Puerto Montt.
