Best of Namibia and the Okavango Delta Safari

Begin your adventure travel in Sossusvlei, situated within the Namib Desert, and considered to be the oldest desert in the world.
Begin your adventure travel in Sossusvlei, situated within the Namib Desert, and considered to be the oldest desert in the world. Against the dramatic backdrop of the orange dunes of Sossusvlei wildlife such as ostrich, springbok and gemsbok eke out an existence as well as larger predators such as the spotted hyaena. Take guided safaris to the dunes and also enjoy the fantastic views of Sossusvlei at sunset.

Next, head to Etosha National Park, Namibia's premier wildlife destination and one of Africa's largest safari wildlife parks. Here take jeep safaris to seek resident lions, elephant, cheetahs, gemsboks, springboks, and hartebeests gathering at many of the water holes in the park. Night safari game drives are also available to track nocturnal species.

Finally, go to the Okavango Delta, the largest inland delta in the world. Wildlife seen here includes elephant, lion, Burchell's zebra, red lechwe, southern giraffe, tsessebe, and blue wildebeest on the floodplains. Take jeep safaris during the day and night, as well as water activities such as fishing, boating and mokoro (a traditional, dug-out canoe) safaris.
Days 1 - 2: Kulala Wilderness Reserve, Sossusvlei, Namibia
Arrive Windhoek, Namibia on Day 1 and take a scheduled charter flight to Sossusvlei and the Namib Desert. The huge red sand dunes of Sossusvlei offer spectacular photographic opportunities. A waterhole near your lodge attracts gemsbock, springbok, ostrich and jackal to name a few. Activities at Little Kulala start with morning guided game drives to the spectacular dunes of Sossusvlei, through a private gate into the Park, allowing early arrival at the dunes thereby maximising photographic opportunities and scenic grandeur.
Lodging Little Kulala
Description Journey through the Namib in harmony with the environment and savour the personal and sumptuous style of Little Kulala. Here you will find the gateway to Namibia's extraordinary Sossusvlei, where the world's tallest dunes can be found. Set amongst ancient camel thorn trees on the dry Auab riverbed, Little Kulala offers first-rate facilities, charming hospitality and proximity to the towering red sand dunes of the Namib Desert. There is no better way to experience the famed "Sand Sea" other than in the flesh.
Days 3 - 4: Northern Damaraland, Namibia
Today, depart by scheduled charter flight over the Namib Desert for a different view of the desert and the Skeleton Coast's spectacular topography, before deviating inland to northern Damaraland for two nights. Leave the sandy dunes and make your way to an ancient rock-strewn landscape of a previous glacial era. This private concession supports a diverse complement of arid-adapted wildlife, including several herds of Namibia's acclaimed "desert-adapted" elephants, and healthy numbers of Hartmann's mountain zebra, southern giraffe, gemsbok and springbok in a landscape dotted with equally interesting flora.
Lodging Damaraland Camp
Description Damaraland Camp is located in possibly the most pristine wilderness area in Namibia, the Huab River Valley. Boasting panoramic vistas of stark plains, ancient valleys and the soaring inselberg of the Brandberg Mountains, cheerful Damaraland Camp integrates the local community and environment through sustainable ecotourism. This rare synergy has won a host of awards, including the 2005 WTTC Tourism for Tomorrow Conservation Award which is one of the top two global environmental travel awards.
Days 5 - 6: Ongava Game Reserve, Etosha, Namibia
Fly by scheduled charter on to Etosha National Park and the Ongava Reserve. Explore Namibia's premier big game destination and its open plains, nautral springs, and acacia woodlands. The Ongave Reserve is one of the few places in Namibia where you have the opportunity to see white and black rhino. Ongava Reserve also supports good populations of lion, eland, Hartmann's mountain zebra, black faced impala and other antelope species. Highlights of your stay here are safaris in Etosha National Park (reserve only situated a short distance from Etosha's Anderson Gate) as well as day and night game-drives, informative nature walks (including the opportunity to track white rhino on foot) and wildlife viewing hides on the exclusive Ongava Game Reserve itself.
Lodging Ongava Lodge
Description Stylish Ongava Lodge is situated along the southern boundary of Etosha National Park in the privately-owned Ongava Game Reserve. From its beautiful vantage point overlooking a waterhole and the plains beyond, one can enjoy a plethora of game that arrives to drink. Its proximity to the National Park makes it the ideal base for exploring Etosha's kaleidoscope of wildlife.
Days 7 - 8: Okavango Delta, Botswana
Today fly by commercial air to Maun, Botswana. Connect with a scheduled charter to the Okavango Delta. Activities include canoeing, boating, and game drives. As the custodians of one of Botswana's very first safari camps the owners of Xakanaxa Camp (pronounced Ka-ka-na-ka) have gone to extraordinary lengths to preserve its original African bush camp character while providing guests with every comfort. The camp's 12 guest tents are constructed out of canvas in the style of Meru- style classic safari tents. The entire camp is located at a prime location on the banks of the Khwai River on the Xakanaxa Lagoon in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana ensures that it is one of the only safari camps which can provide guests with an authentic year round Okavango Delta land and water safari experience.
