I am doing really well although definitely missing the beautiful countries I had the chance to see on my trip. Regarding the rest of the trip, it was fantastic! My favourite hotel was the location in Buenos Aires. The open-air hallway with the vines that walked into a beautiful courtyard was definitely more unique than a large chain hotel where many people stay where travelling. I loved that you used small local boutique hotels which really gave you a feel for the culture and the city that I was visiting -As for the most memorable place I visited, it has to be Igauzu Falls. A fantastic tour guide in such a beautiful setting made for a very memorable stop, I couldn't have imagined not seeing it when I was travelling -The best part of travelling with your organization was that everything was taken care of for me. As soon as I arrived in a city, I was told the itinerary for the time I was staying there which made it an extremely simple and stress free vacation. The only thing I would suggest was that I wasn't told that I would receive a breakdown of each leg of my trip once I arrived in my next city. It would just take the confusion out of it as I was wondering how I was suppose to get my tickets, rides, etc when I started on the journey. Overall did a fantastic job and I will absolutely give you a fantastic rating as you created a very memorable trip for me that I couldn't have even imagined on my own. For photos,
You and your company did a wonderful job. Our transfers and flights went very smoothly. Of course, the highlight of our trip was Iguazu and our tour Guide, was wonderful!! I have trouble walking long distances, and he gave me shorter alternative walks and got me a ride up a hill for lunch in a golf cart. Hotel Bobo was in a wonderful location for walking to good restaurants and corner stores for a bottle of wine. The room, however, was very small but the bathroom was a good size. Breakfast daily was quite good. La Aldea de la Selva in Iguazu was very unique. Although very rustic it had all the amenities of a modern hotel. We had to take a cab to town for dinner, but staying in the jungle was worth it. We loved Iguazu!! In Rio our hotel had a wonderful view of Ipanema beach which we also visited. My sister had been to Rio about 8 years ago and they were not allowed to leave the hotel or go to the beach unescorted because of the danger, but things have Dramatically changed. We freely walked the streets, even at night to restaurants, without Any fear, and went to the beach by ourselves to people watch. You and your company did a wonderful job !!! Although I don't know of anyone currently that is going to South America, I will definitely recommend your company to make the arrangements!
Thanks for the note and the recipe. We had a great time in Iguazu and Rio. I would say the L'Hotel Palermo was our favorite hotel, the staff really took care of us and helped us navigate the neighborhood. (We went to the milonga you suggested our last night in Buenos Aires). I thought the whole team did a really nice job in Buenos Aires from you, to the driver, to the tour you booked for Sunday. Other thoughts, if I had to do it over I think I'd rather see the Brazilian side of the falls first then the Argentinean side although that is a minor comment. Also while the Argecam tour guide was great their destination host just dropped us off with a rushed introduction the day we got to Puerto Iguazu in contrast to you sitting down with us in Buenos Aires or Ilana doing so in Rio.
During our time to the falls, everything went very well and smoothly. Getting picked up from the airport was very smooth and our driver was incredibly nice. He took us to local banks to get cash, recommended a great dinner restaurant (la rueda, which was on your guys' recommendation list) and took us to our hotel. Hotel St. George wasn't bad - I wasn't expecting a lot from hotels in Iguazu especially since we didn't book the premium hotels, and it was fine. It was nice that the front desk staff there spoke fluent English. As for the tour itself, Francisco our tour guide was very nice and knowledgable. While I do think we could have done the falls on our own without a tour guide, it was a relief to not have to put in the effort to know where to go, what order to look at the various parts of the falls, or deal with crossing the border. We felt very taken care of and we didn't have to "think". Also, while it was a very busy day, we all thought doing both the argentinean and brazilian side of the falls in one day worked out perfectly. We saw everything and didn't feel the need to have spaced it out over two days. It was also nice that the park was not super crowded the day we went.
I liked your hotel location choices. You picked hotels in walking distance to the part of town you want to be in. Very important. I also liked that the tour was flexible and you can add or subtract things. If possible, I don't know the roads, it might have been more interesting to take a bus instead of a plane from either BA to Iguazu or from Iguazu to Rio. However I don't know the travel time. The tour guides were all very helpful, prompt, bilingual polite. Good choices. I liked Argentina a lot. Great country and great food. Hope to see more of Argentina someday. Thanks and I will recommend you and Argentina to others.
