Annapurna, Nar & Tilicho Lake

Starts: Mainz, Nepal
Finishes: Mainz, Nepal

Tour Type: Small Group

Overview

Book
Our most comprehensive and what we consider the best of the Annapurna's! This trip is for those craving an unforgettable adventure through lush forests, soaring mountain peaks, the finest views of glaciers, high pass crossings and a deep cultural experience. We venture off the highly trekked trails of the classic Annapurna circuit and into the rugged and secluded valleys of Naar and Phu. The villages we pass are enriched with influence from Tibetan inhabitants of the north, a stark contrast to the Hindu villages dotted throughout the lower foothills. We trek along ridges looming below the grandeur of surrounding 6000m peaks and cross Kang La pass (5320m). We head up the valley and traverse a series of scree slopes to the highest lake for its size in the world; the sacred Tilicho Lake (4920m) nestled at the foot of Tilicho Peak (7130m). We continue into the heart of the Annapurnas, our path to Mesokanto La affords stadium views as we are sandwiched between the world's highest mountain range. Rugged, remote and rewarding, this is Himalayan trekking at its absolute finest!

Highlights

    • Trek into the rugged heart of the Annapurna range
    • Explore the remote Nar Phu region and cross the Kang La (5100m)
    • Camp at Tilicho Lake (4900m), the highest lake for its size in the world
    • Cross the Mesokanto La for sweeping views to Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri peaks
    • Enjoy a fully supported camping based trek, with three hearty meals prepared daily by our cooks

What a fantastic trip! Really really great, what an adventure and what a fantastic team we had looking after us! There was never any doubt that we were save and more than well cared for. I was absolutely amazed at how easy and little fuss was made over my dietary requirements. They were reconfirmed at the beginning and that was the last I heard of it, it was all sorted. I have stayed in 5 star hotels in the past where ensuring my food was wheat and dairy free was a big hassle, yet your team managed to make it entirely easy and hassle free despite being in the back of beyond - I honestly can not praise them high enough.

MOST MEMORABLE PARTS: Naar, the day from the monastery up to Tilicho Lake base camp and the day from Tilicho Lake over pass and down.

This was a physically and personally challenging trek, but these challenges were more than compensated by the sheer physical beauty of the landscape, the wonders of visiting remote, isolated villages, Tilicho Lake itself, beautiful, friendly people and supportive and informative support staff. Not a trek to do as your first experience of walking, but if you're up for a challenge, this trek is amazing.

A physical and mentally challenging journey through some of Nepal most remote and isolated regions. The scenery changes as you ascend and the remote villages, the people and high passes are exceptional. If you like a challenge and a well managed expedition this is for you!

Annapurna, Nar & Tilicho Lake was a wonder full trek. Walking from lush green scenery, up through beautiful forests, above the tree line and onto the snow was a great experience. Tilicho Lake in the snow was beautiful. Thanks to Juddah and his team for a fantastic trek.

The trek is no doubt challenging according to the grading but with training, the trek is enjoyable. Each days is different. It was Five Star support from the Juddha, Sankar, Limbeh, cooks and porters. They are very hard working and didn't stop working till everything was done. I'm very impressed and like last year, I was well taken care, met new friends and thoroughly enjoy my trek!
