Experience the charm, sophistication and elegant feel of Central Europe on this 15-day classical exploration from Vienna to Budapest. Bask in the tradition of vivacious Vienna, discover the hidden fairy tale gem of Cesky Krumlov, Czech Prague off your list and be one with nature in Slovakia’s Tatra Mountains. Learn a thing or two in historic Krakow and round off your central crusade with time spent braving Budapest. With an expert guide to lead the way and plenty of time to explore at your own pace, get the low-down on some of the highlights of Europe’s centre – medieval architecture, rolling countryside and varied cuisine all await.

Highlights

    • Stay in old-school style while supporting a social cause during your time in Vienna. The city’s quirky Magdas Hotel is committed to helping local refugees earn a living through employment.
    • Embark on a hike through the lesser known but no less stunning Tatra Mountains in Slovakia. With a range of trails available, you’ll be high above the valley floor admiring the vistas in no time.
    • With so much to do and see in Krakow and surrounds, you have the power to choose your own adventure. Wawel Castle? St Mary's Basilica? Auschwitz? Wieliczka Salt Mines? You decide.
    • Discover the magical Cesky Krumlov on two wheels with a leader-led cycling tour around town with your small group, passing by medieval buildings, verdant countryside and the flowing Vltava River.
    • Get the low-down on Budapest’s classic charm, café culture, and eclectic neighbourhood vibes during your time here. Have you actually been to Budapest if you didn’t go to a ruin bar?

A really great trip - I'd highly recommend. Tips - read the trip notes carefully and be aware that some trips in the season won't have all activities included. Be aware you may share with new people and that comes with it own possible problems. If you are open to new experiences and a respectful traveler I've no doubts you can have a great experience with this company.

Best of central Europe is a great tour, which mixes the big cities and the beautiful towns of Europe. i did the last tour of the year, which was a little cold being in November, but less tourist around, and got some beautiful autumn photos. so don't be afraid to go a little later in the year to avoid the chaos.

We chose this trip for the time allotted to independently explore the intriguing places in the itinerary, balance of urban/rural, and having accommodation and transportation details taken care of. It did not disappoint! Accommodation, transportation, itinerary, breakfasts and tour leader exceeded our expectations.

Combines the best of independent travel, while having the trip details looked after by a tour company. On trip we saw the standard large bus tours, and it really made me appreciate the small unstructured tour I was on.

We loved the best of Central Europe Trip. WE hadn't been to this part of Europe before and the tour took us to the major cities as well as to National parks which gave the trip an excellent balance. We heard through the walking tours we took a lot of the war history and post war communism and found quite different experiences from local guides and the people.
