One of the best experiences. Pros: Experienced Guides, Fun, Great Value, Once In A Lifetime Experience, Well Organized. OARS guide school was by far one of the best experiences I've ever had. Not only did I get to spend everyday out on the river, but I meet some amazing new people and learned more than I could have imagined. School is in Session. Pros: Experienced Guides, Fun, Well Organized. An incredible educational experience! But go prepared with the right gear (it was cold '11) and fitness. This isn't a family float. As an avid whitewater hound, guiding class III's was more exciting than running commercial class V's. You'll meet some great people and ones you'll keep in touch with afterwards. I'll never forget the instructors, people, and experience. Good Luck and Have a Blast!

Awesome! Pros: Experienced Guides, Fun. I would totally suggest guide school for anyone interested in guiding as a career or for private boating. I came into this with virtually no history in rafting or guiding, and our instructors were exceptional in catering to the varying levels of experience. Go for the 2-week to get Swiftwater Rescue certified. The rescue course is a must for anyone looking to spend lots of time on the water and for understanding boating. Plan to be flexible, and know that you are in good hands with O.A.R.S. Don't sign up for this and expect to sit around; you will get worked and it will be fabulous!

The staff and instructors were great! They understood the group dynamics and did a good job trying to modify their basic curriculum to meet the group's desires. Most of the class never intended to be actual "guides", but rather learn skills that would be beneficial to planned private whitewater trips. The OARS group succeeded in those endeavors. The time spent, the learning experience, the river time, the guides/instructors and the overall trip well exceeded our expectations. My wife and I, and most of those who attended will plan another trip or school with OARS in the near future. Thanks Much!
