Overview

Book
Take a journey through history on this fully guided one week walking holiday following Spain's Camino de Santiago, The Way of St James. Since the middle ages the Camino has been considered one of the holiest pilgrimages in world. Legend has it that the remains of the apostle St James, having been carried by boat from Jerusalem, were interred in northern Spain, at what is now Sanitago de Compostela. For centuries Christians have journeyed here to pay homage; nowadays, these pilgrims are also joined by explorers from all around the world, drawn in by the fascinating history of the route. We will join the Pilgrim's Way in Sarria, from where we follow the iconic scallop shell route markers all the way to the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, thus completing the last 100km stretch that qualifies us for our Compostela' pilgrimage certificate.

We set out from the pretty, tree-shaded streets of Sarria, armed with our 'Pilgrim's Passports', which we'll enjoy filling with stamps each day in the small cafes and Romanseque churches we pass by. Our route leads us beside waterways, through woodland and picturesque rural villages. Along the way we will be sure to encounter a variety of friendly fellow pilgrims and, after greeting each other with a "Bon Camino Peregrino!", we can enjoy sharing stories as we walk along. Finally we arrive at the ancient town of Santiago de Compostela, with its cobbled streets and welcoming cafes and tapas bars, where we visit the impressive Baroque Cathedral, now a shrine to St James, where we can attend a Pilgrim's Mass to mark the end of our journey if we wish. During the week we'll stay in small, family run hotels and our baggage will be transferred for us, allowing us to walk with just a light pack. With our experienced guide always on hand to explain about the history of the Camino, the villages and churches we pass, this fully guided walking holiday really allows us to enjoy the very best of this 1000 year-old pilgrimage route.

Our trip was smooth from day one to the end.. Our guide took good care of us.The hotels we stayed at were clean and comfortable. The food they served us at restaurants we went to were great. Our breakfast is good enough to start our day.Our lunches were packed for us, wish there is a variety in our sandwiches, It's always ham and cheese..Otherwise this trip was great... Had a great group... This pilgrimage/walk to Santiago is a very memorable one for me.I definitely will recommend this trip...This is our first trip with you and definitely won't be our last.

A fantastic adventure. The group was brilliant and Miguel our guide was superb. It really was like walking with life long friends. Despite the weather which cannot be guaranteed each step of the way was so enjoyable. All meals at each stop over were superb. The accommodation was also great at each stop. Only one slight downside was at our next gets stay at the Pension de Rei in Palas de Rei, the bedrooms as well as the entire building were so so cold. All of us found this to be the case. The staff did turn up the heating but I spite of that a cold night was had by all. Overall I would recommend this trek. Well managed and run. This being my second trek with you, I would have no hesitation in also recommending you as a company to book an adventure with. Thank you.

Good communication by e-mail with office staff. Limited selection for vegetarians: mainly Spanish omelette and salad. But plenty of food available. Baggage transfer was smooth. We walked at our own pace, with the leader keeping an eye on everyone. It was relaxed. The scenery always changed.
