I went to Baja with my 11-year old great niece. We both really enjoyed it. The paddling level was just right; some long days but very do-able (31 miles around the island - a sense of accomplishment). The beaches, scenery, and wildlife were stupendous. The guides were excellent - very welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful. They watched carefully over our safety and enjoyment. The food was the best I've ever had on an adventure trip. Snorkeling with the sea lions (and a what shark) were particular highlights. Couldn't have been better.

My husband and I went on this trip with my 7 year old daughter and my 72 year old mother. There was something for everyone, and we all had the trip of a lifetime. The guides were better than excellent, really knowing the area and caring about it. When my mother and daughter got tired of kayaking, they rode in the panga. The beaches were beautiful with lots of opportunity to explore. The hotel in La Paz was great too, very clean and walking distance from everything we wanted to see and do in La Paz.

The trip is run by Mars Y Adventuras, who really knew their stuff. Detailed organization, they owned (or ran?) the hotel that we stayed in the first night, that we loved. They clearly have years of experience, had the whole thing planned and their planning certainly worked out - they had thought of everything. Example - they took the whole group off to the store in La Paz on the first morning to buy snacks and drinks. We had no less that four different diets in the group - every day they came up with delicious options for those people, no-one complained ever. We usually arrived at the campsite later than the crew - they usually had most if not all of the tents set up - such luxury! Some fisherman showed up with a gorgeous huge jack fish one night - we offered to pay for it with our own money, but the guides insisted that MYA had it covered. They knew the route and weather systems (they were all local to the area) so well that they were able to make snap, smart decisions about changes to the itinerary, and avoid really long sea crossings in rough weather. Their knowledge of the area was really outstanding, I don't we got a single "I don't know". They would sit and play our silly card games with us after dinner, even though they had to be up super early to make our delicious coffee. They happily took us out fishing every single morning before breakfast - even thought we never caught anything! The head guide had extraordinary people skills, never impatient or crabby, always

This trip was great for our family of 4 over Christmas. We wanted a different Christmas experience. We got an adventure, wonderful snorkeling, fun kayaking (two of us were complete novices and we did fine), and some interesting short hikes. (You can't do long hikes because they are restricted on the island.) I've done lots of organized trips and our guide was the best ever--helpful, humorous, and knowledgeable. We had such a good time that we're considering a repeat next year. This trip is a jewel!

This trip was well organized by the local company in La Paz. Everyone was professional, helpful and knowledgeable. Our guide was outstanding. He had a wealth of knowledge about the local area and people, in fact appeared to be related to many of the fishermen we encountered. He was well read and enjoyed sharing. The cooks were excellent and also friendly and helpful. They did cook way too much food and I hated to see it wasted. Wish they had a system for distributing the extra. The area we visited was amazing and the level of activity and rest was just right.
