I had heard that the trip was life changing. It is true. I felt 20-30 years younger.( I am in my 60s) I can not remember having so much energy and positive kharma in decades. Our head guide, with over 30 years on the river, is truly a living legend. He is colorful, but the trip was efficient and extremely well run. I wanted to go back and do it over the next day! The entire crew's love and realistic concern for the canyon and it's environment was refreshing.

I was looking to do a long (2 week) rafting trip in the grand canyon, and this trip was a great fit. I am usually in favour of doing my own adventure rather than going through an operator, however with grand canyon being highly regulated this was not an option. O.A.R.S. had really fun and educational group of guides, amazing food, and pretty comfortable gear (I certainly didnt expect to have chairs at the camp in the evening!). The range of people on the trip also makes it pretty unique. Note this is NOT a physically demanding trip as you dont have to do any rafting yourself (though the guide may let you if you ask nicely after first few days...). Make sure you bring a good camera for the hikes, and maybe a good waterproof one for the rafting
