Situated on the border between Poland and Slovakia and with 25 summits above 2500 metres, the magnificent High Tatras are the highest range of peaks in the spectacular Carpathian Mountains chain. With a classic Alpine landscape and excellent trails linking comfortable and scenically located mountain refuges, this is a captivating region for a true mountain holiday.

We start in the picturesque Strazyska Valley before making our way up to the mountain town of Zakopane.  Next it’s the stunning 'Polish Five Lakes Valley' as we ascend to the spectacular Morskie Oko lakes before climbing via an exhilarating route to the highest point in the country - the awesome summit of Rysy (2499m)!  From this jaw-dropping point we descend into Slovakia to enjoy remote mountain huts and a scenic train journey to Stary Smokovec. After exploring the spectacular Jagniecy Mountains we end our incredible journey with a night in the colourful UNESCO city of Krakow.  If you are looking for a real hut-to-hut trekking adventure which combines two of Europe’s most welcoming countries, remote mountain overnights and a superb wilderness landscape all topped off with a laid-back medieval city – then this is the perfect choice!

I have been travelling with your company for several years and on the whole I have found the trip leaders to be of a high standard. Our guide this time was by far the best I have travelled with. He was superb, nothing was too much trouble, he was friendly and enthusiastic. He took account of all levels of fitness and encouraged all. I cannot praise him enough and could I please ask that my thanks are passed on to him.

Our leader was an excellent leader, he was aware of the groups needs, paced appropriately, provided a wealth of information both about the mountains, Poland and its history. He remembered any problems group members had experienced and checked that they were OK. He mixed with all members of the group. He was concerned about changing the route, which he had done for the safety of the group. He was approachable and incredibly patient - an excellent leader.

Have been on many trips with you and other companies but have never found "an Interesting Guide" such as our guide who was absolutely "brilliant". Not only did he look after everybody (13 on the trip) but he got us to every place on time. He would tell us each day how we had done using a GPS for kms, altitude, etc. Then he would tell us next day when we would get up passing through each stage and lunch at right time, "incredible".

Our trip leader was just perfect. The group was good fun to be with. The scenery was wonderful. Basically, I enjoyed every aspect of the holiday. We live in Lancaster and called into your Keswick office to make enquiries re holidays. My very first impression of your office was that it is friendly with very helpful staff - that clinched it for me. Great organisation on the trek. Group size not too large. Price is good.

The pace and routing of the trip was excellent. The accommodation and food in the mountain 'huts' was much higher standard than expected, and appreciated! Accommodation and Pacing was excellent and allowed us to build up to the long day on the crossing of Rysy. Our leader was an excellent leader - patient, supportive, competent, informative and well-organised. He contributed significantly to my enjoyment of the trip. I developed an eye infection and he kindly made arrangements for medical treatment in Zakopane at the end of the trip. I chose you because of its proven expertise, service and attention to detail and positive experiences as a client on previous trips with you.

Would highly recommend this trip to anyone, I loved it. We were possibly spoiled a little as we had fantastic weather throughout so the scenery was truly spectacular. Enjoyed the descent from Rysy using the chains and pretty much everything else. Picked you due to previous trek, top service well done all! I think that once you have enjoyed a trip from you, you wont book with another adventure firm providing the same destinations are on offer.

Good organisation. Well supported and good use made of public transport - to keep costs down. Commendable! Our guide was an EXCELLENT guide. His logistics were smotth and everything was on time. He always put others before himself. Star man! New highs for me. A different walking culture - going from hut to hut was a great way to get around the Tatras! I loved the wilderness atmosphere in the Tatras. Day 4 was a loooong day - but the ascent of the 2499 metre Mount Rysy was really a triumph! I slept so good and deeply that night - I drempt I was being followed round by a one eyed slurring mutant!....really weird!

The guide provided an excellent holiday from guiding to caring for us all. His enthusiam was amazing. Hubert who joined us for the Rysy climb was young, with a very pleasant manner and again interesting and enthusiastic. Just what you need on holiday! A brilliant week's mountain walking holiday. Made by the guide, company, terrain and weather!

A fantastic point to point trekking holiday. I enjoy light weight back packing so know to pack light. Pack light and get in shape to make the most of this holiday. Our guide was brilliant. An accomplished guide and leader but also a wonderful teacher about the landscape and the history of the areas we trekked through. One of the best guides I have ever travelled with. The ascent of Rys is a technical scramble with the aid of chains, make sure you are okay with scrambling and a little bit of exposure.

Excellent trip with an expert guide who was very knowlegeable in all aspects of the ecology and history of the region. Everything was well organised despite one change due to weather issues. Beautiful unspoilt scenery in the national park with dramatic lanscape.

Poland flat? No, it has amazing mountains bordering Slovakia. I took this trip on my daughter’s recommendation. It had the three elements important in my opinion for a successful trip – Location-Organisation –Good Guide. The location was amazing, the mountains so majestic and the people so very friendly. The organisation was what you would expect from first class in every way from the initial booking, being met at the airport, hotels, huts and food. Oh and the professional way the team dealt with my endless questions!!! Due to an unexpected drop in temperature causing ice on the Polish ascent of Rysy, we were bussed around to the Slovakian side to ensure a safe ascent and that we did not miss out on this great climb with its amazing views. The most impressive aspect was out guide Antoni, a most knowledgeable and enthusiastic young graduate who bent over backwards to ensure everything went well for his clients. He is without doubt the best guide I have been on a trek with. He always had a smile and told us that he believed he had a the best job in the world because the Tatras were his office.
