Overview

Book
Trekking the Inca Trail and then arriving at the Sun Gate above the 15th Century Inca citadel of Machu Picchu is one of the outstanding highlights of any visit to Peru. We begin this superb 8-day walking holiday with two vital acclimatisation days where we explore Cusco and the Sacred Valley - the former capital of both the Inca Empire and Spanish colonial government. In the company of like-minded travellers from around the world, we then set off on the Inca Trail, the famous ancient paved pathway of the Incas, trekking from the Urubamba River to a high point at the Warmiwanusca Pass (4200m), before descending to the Sun Gate at Machu Picchu. Averaging 10 kilometres of walking on each of 4 days this brilliant fully supported short trek provides us with spectacular views of the peaks of the Cordillera Vilcabamba. The holiday culminates in an early morning visit to Machu Picchu with a knowledgeable guide who will bring alive the history of the city of the Incas before we take the classic train ride back to Cusco. With 2 departures each week, we're sure we will have a trip to fit your busy schedule, but be quick! Inca Trail permits go on sale each year in January and permits for popular periods tend to sell out immediately. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Staff were excellent and gave additional advise as needed. 100% satisfaction. All Hotels used were excellent and friendly staff on hand to answer all questions. Food quality was of a very high standard and much more than I expected. I cannot speak more highly of our support crew guide and Cook. the cleanliness and hygiene was top quality and all I can say is I have had worse food in some top class restaurants. Our tour guide was of the highest standard. He was a great leader and knew his stuff well and was very attentive to our needs. He was also very knowledgeable about his history and knowledge of the Inca.

We found you through a google search. We chose it as it had a comprehensive itinerary, looked reliable and when we called to inquire about the trip the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Our trip leader was very good at ensuring everyone was well and coping with the altitude. He was very knowledgeable about the inca trail and local culture and environment. He was very patient and supported our whole group. He made the trip even more enjoyable by being friendly and approachable.

This is my second trip with you and I knew I would be in good hands on the trek. I picked you because of how happy I was with the experience I had on the previous trek. The holiday was perfect for me, with just the right amount of days trekking and camping. I particularly liked the guided trip to the Sacred Valley before the trek commenced. It was spectacular and we had a very good guide. The guiding on the trip was excellent. This is my second trip with you but I have used other companies in the past. I can honestly say that from the moment I was met at the airport to departure, the service I received was the tops. Usually I get stressed out while travelling but once I saw your sign held up for me at Cusco Airport arrival hall I knew my worries were over and a great trek had begun. I am really looking forward to my next trip with you. With all the choices, I'm having trouble deciding where to go. Our guide is probably the best trip leader I have seen to date. He was very friendly, informative and on the ball. We couldn't go wrong with Harry leading. He was an expert on all things related to the trek. You can not beat experience and Harry had it all. An all round good guy. I found the kit list to be spot on. I packed a bit extra but really it was not needed. The first two nights were warm enough and although I brought a down jacket I did not use it and ended up just layering up instead. The kit bag supplied by the local operator was smaller than the bag so I ended up packin

My trip leader was absolutely brilliant. Great enthusiasm, knowledge & passion about the Inca trail & Machu Picchu. Plus he played the flute! This was a great holiday with no illnesses and I didn't even have to wear any rain gear! It was also the Corpus Christii carnival on our arrival date into Cusco - big bonus & helped us stay awake. I was also surprised by how much I enjoyed learning about the Inca history and architecture of ruins etc.

All very good, an excellent itinerary for the trek with much better camp site locations and quieter route than the standard one. An excellent crew and local arrangements. Most enjoyed - The first view Machu Picchu through Sun Gate.

No problems at all, information all good. Professional. Trip leader was really fantastic, friendly and informative quickly understood the needs of the group and tailored accordingly. Exceeded my expectations by a considerable margin. One of the guys I worked with took the trip with you some years back and passed KE details with a high recommendation - he was right.
