This was one of the best family vacations we have ever taken. Our children are 10, 14 and 15 and they were great ages for this trip. They loved being on the river as well as hiking to various beautiful waterfalls, hot springs and scenic mountain tops. The food was delicious and the guides were knowledgeable, friendly and incredibly good at their jobs - whether that was guiding us down the river, preparing our food, leading us on a hike, or keeping us organized and on schedule. The scenery was breathtaking and the chance to unplug from the craziness of everyday life and reconnect with each other and with nature was one of the best parts of the trip for me. We met wonderful new friends from all over the country with whom I would love to go on another trip!

This was the best trip our family has ever done together. The guides were very experienced. Our trip leader had 15+ years with the operator. The food was outstanding. The scenery was fabulous! The equipment was all top-notch. We, and our two teens, got to try everything from the inflatable kayaks, to the paddle rafts, to the operator's-boat, to the sweep boat (which carries all the equipment; if you need a break from paddling, you can just relax and stretch out on the sweep-boat.) They took special care with my spouse's dietary restrictions, and, as a result, she had a fabulous time. The trip was well-organized and everything went like clockwork. There were no surprises or accidents. I told my wife I'd actually like to come back in a few years and do the trip again. The only thing I would change is I would fly into Stanley next time. It's a long drive from where we live in Texas. But the drive was beautiful. This company really did a great job for our family, and we are very pleased with our experience. All the other folks on the trip with us were pleased as well. The trip length was perfect, too!

We kayaked, paddled, fished, hiked, played bocce ball, saw mountain sheep, golden eagles, bald eagles and pictographs, soaked in hot springs, ate like royalty, slept under the stars, had friendly, knowledgeable guides and had a great time. This was my second time on the middle fork with them. There is so much to see and do, I can't wait to do it again.

We booked the Wine on the River trip down the Middle Fork thinking it would be a little more relaxing (late-season water levels, wine tasting each night). Our expectations were exceeded in every way! First, I had no idea that the quality of the meals would be as stellar as they were. Chef Rhody and his wife Cara blew us away nightly, with entrees such as trout, duck, elk and ribs. Each meal was completed with wonderful appetizers, side dishes and desserts. That the chefs were able to produce this kind of food in the middle of nowhere is astonishing to say the least, and we are pretty accomplished foodies. Five stars in every way! Now, let's talk about the wine. Matt Hatcher brought 30+ CASES of wine from his own production winery. With over 25 different bottlings, a very informative talk and Q&A every evening, and a sparkling personality, I cannot say enough about him! If you are fortunate enough to find Matt or Rhody on one of your wine trips, consider yourself very, very lucky....

The variety of activities was good -- not only did we float through easy sections and paddle through more exciting ones, but we also took a range of hikes and soaked in hot pools. The crew were all very knowledgeable and skilled.

This was my second trip with them, and I hope there will be more! I am very impressed with every facet of this company, from the first inquiry by phone to the celebration party on the last day of the trip. The guides are fabulous. They have incredible knowledge of the geology, history, flora, fauna, etc. about the area, AND they are fabulous cooks, storytellers, and entertainers. They also take great care to make sure each participant is comfortable and safe at all times. My only suggestion is that it be made clear early in the day what activities might happen on that day's river trip, such as hiking, or a special swim. Some clients may need to have special gear in the boat with them to participate.

Our trip on the Middle Fork was our 4th river rafting experience with them and, as on prior trips, we were not disappointed. We used other rafting companies on our first few trips, but once we went on a trip with them, we have since stayed with them. The guides were, as always, awesome, the food tasty and filling, and the scenery fabulous. This trip, and others we have taken, provide our family with time to bask in special wilderness areas, spend special time with each other away from our daily routines, and meet like-minded outdoorsy people. The rapids were fun, and the flat water interludes were great too. We can't wait to go on another trip.

This was our first Wine on the River trip with them and it totally exceeded our expectations! James, our gourmet chef, prepared absolutely awesome appetizers and meals and Steve, our "Wine Guy" shared tons of information about his wines, vineyards and his family's history in the wine business. Appetizers included sauteed cajun shrimp, drunken goat cheese, smoked duck, trout quesadillas and much more. Savoring grilled halibut, pork tenderloin or rack of lamb next to the river each evening was simply superb. How these amazing meals came out of a camp kitchen continues to boggle my mind! We can't wait for our next trip, thanks!!
