We had an incredible journey on our 3 day trip through Hell's Canyon on the Snake. Our guides were fantastic, the river and weather were great, the scenic flight was jaw-dropping. I was well-fed, entertained, thrilled with the rapids, and slept great. The hikes and seeing the Native American sites were all also marvelous. The fishing was fun, and we had a really nice group of folks. I went with my dad and brother and truly had such a marvelous time. My brother and I paddled the whole trip - on the paddle boat or the duckies, and it was a blast! Bring waterproof splash pants - it sounds silly- you'll be wet all the time, right? Trust me- bring them :)

We had a wonderful time on our August 2015 raft trip through Hells Canyon. My wife and I had the chance to sleep under the stars, kayak some great rapids, go on hikes, etc. Overall, the guides make this trip. Godwin, Prester, Peter, and Derrick found ways to tap into everyone's wishes in a fairly large group and made the whole experience very memorable. From relaxing on a beach to getting a geology talk on a hike to picking a line and catching the best rapids we could - it was all about given us a great experience. I would definitely choose O.A.R.S. again and loved this experience.

H the potty saver!

The reviews by Nick and Shelly said it all. No need to rewrite. To add would be the calm of spirit that occurred on the last days. A shorter than 5 day tour would miss this part. I can now close my eyes and put myself into the peace and calm of the canyon. So i can re-experience the peace anytime!

We have been looking to do a trip with OARS for quite some time now and just completed a 5 day journey with OARS on the Snake River through Hell's Canyon. We came as a party of 6 and made some good friends and travelling companions. The guides were super! Professional, dedicated, fun loving attitude, and an excellent work ethic. They come together to make your journey one you will be talking about for a long time to come. We had some really high temperatures on the trip; 116 one day in the shade! Despite that, the river temperature is just right in late June. Food was fantastic on the river as well. OARS does this trip right---HIGHLY recommend!

Excellent guides, wonderful group, beautiful country, fun rapids, great food…. Good times. If you love an adventure, you must experience a rafting trip and OARS was excellent. If you need to escape from stress from whatever source, this is it. If you can play like you did when you were a child or you want to see if you still have it – go! And then make sure you start a water fight. Experience everything you can. Jump in when you can, try different boats, go see what you can see, and most important, start water fights or participate. You don't want to leave thinking I wish I would have…. I did Hells Canyon, ID. There is a choice between 3 days and 5. Go 5! The last day and evening was the best – you will miss out if you only go 3 days. I would recommend this for everyone, but there are some people that should not go. You are roughing it and keeping an adventurous spirit is necessary to make the most of the trip. If that is not you, think twice about going. You are going to get wet, hot, maybe cold (not our trip), etc. You are living in the elements and you are there until the trip is over. OARS provided a great packing list – follow it. They suggest a sarong; I didn't have one and regretted it. It is a great way to keep cool for men and women. For women a sun dress was suggested, I didn't bring one and when I can go again, I will bring one for the evening. If you want to understand why – just pay attention to the female guides. If you are going in extreme heat, bring a t

We took a trip in late September. I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive, roughing it for me is a three star hotel. The OARS team made it easy. The pull out locations were consistently welcoming and the cooking and meals were very good. Joel, Mike, Seneca and Simone's commitment and attention to detail made it fun and relaxing. They did a great job! Even in late summer the river was fun and the flight in was an experience. Fishing was pretty good - mostly small mouth bass. It was too early for Salmon and too warm for trout. I look forward to the Grand Canyon next year. A couple of hints: Go earlier in the year for higher water Get into the ducks (inflatable kayaks) early and often Watch out for the strategically placed prickly pair :)

Our trip to Hells Canyon was an adventure like no other. This was our first experience with OARS and will by no means be our last! The guides were well versed in regional information, and provided insight that allowed for a deeper appreciation of the river and the wildlife depending on its' preservation. This was my mother's first adventure in camping and rafting. The crew went out of their way to provide hospitality, and ensure that she was comfortable. Let's just say by the last day she was packing up gear, and a regular at the night time social hour. Our entire group was a unique blend of families, couples, and friends which bonded through nightly dish duties and cheered in each others whitewater successes (and laughed together at our stumbles). Wow! What an adventure....can't wait for the next one!

My son (13) and I had an outstanding time. The guides were top notch. A perfect combination of fun and safety. The food was excellent and camp conversation even better. The guides shared extensive geologic and anthropologic information though out the float. I would recommend this trip to anyone who really wants to have fun and "get away" for five days.

I just returned from the 5 day trip down the Snake River and would definitely recommend this trip to everyone - all ages. The scenery is spectacular, the rapids were a lot of fun, especially in a kayak, the staff were ALL amazingly friendly, professional, well organized and so accommodating to everyone's needs. I am on a special gluten-free diet and the alternative choices the staff prepared for me were wonderful.

My wife and I did the trip with our two children, ages 8 and 12, and it was a fantastic trip for all of us. It was a great combination of thrilling and relaxing. It was definitely a "first" for the kids on many fronts - rafting, camping etc - but it worked really well for them as well as for those on the trip that had more outdoors experience. The guides were awesome and were a big part of shaping the experience. They worked hard to make the trip special for everyone. For example, they made sure the kids had a chance to ride in all appropriate boats. My daughter left the trip ready to be a jr guide when she is old enough. We were also really happy with the food - quite impressive what the guides can do on a river trip. We've actually recreated a recipe at home. We are looking forward to our next trip with OARS.
