Travel through South Africa and Swaziland, combining cultural and wildlife experiences. The tour starts with an introduction to South Africa’s most famous township, Soweto, before heading out into the wilderness. Once on the road you’ll stop at a Zulu village and experience activities such as hiking, kayaking and rafting before arriving at Kruger National Park for unbelievable wildlife watching.

Highlights

    • This trip visits a great spread of Southern African game reserves, putting you and your family right in the midst of the mighty 'Big Five' game of Africa
    • Camp at Kruger National Park under the African night sky. Experience the sights and sounds of the wild, perhaps the roar of a lion as you and your family drift off to sleep
    • A Zulu village tour introduces you and your family to a fascinating tribal culture. You might learn about anything from spear-making and bone-throwing to dancing and basket-weaving
    • Beautifully lit by candles and parafin lanterns, your spacious campsite in Hlane National Park is just a stone's throw from a floodlit waterhole frequented by elephants and rhinos
    • Enjoy a guided hike at Blyde River Canyon, where the spectacular colours and shades of Bourke's Luck Potholes are a photographer's dream

A fantastic, varied trip, made all the more special by our guide, Colin and our driver, Allen. Their enthusiasm was contagious.

The teenage safari was a great adventure for our family! We enjoyed the company of the other families and the teenagers had lots of fun together. The guides were excellent, especially their camp cooking. There were some very early starts and long days driving, but the trip was varied and interesting from the coast to the mountains, Soweto and 3 game parks. We cant wait to book another trip.

This is a great family adventure. If you can handle basic camping and lodges, early starts, lots of driving and simple food, you are in for a fantastic adventure. With great guides and other families willing to chop in to make everything work this is an opportunity for all to experience the great southern African wildlife. Even the kids were never bored.

. We were very lucky as the game drives were excellent and we saw everything we anted to see and more. the highlights were spotting the African Rock Python and the leopard ata waterhole eating a water buffalo. this is a full on trip with not much down time. Camping is usually in great locations but it was really good to have a break from safari at the lodges at Kosi Bay

An incredible experience with like minded travellers - great activities, to engage teenagers but a huge amount of travelling - be prepared to spend hours travelling between destinations in a small minibus. Certainly not "Glamping" but worth it to see South Africa's amazing Game. Your guide may need cajoling into imparting information and engaging with the group.

The Teenage Safari tour of South Africa was exceeding our expectation. Our daughter made friends with two other girls on the trip. We get to experience so many wonderful places in 12 days. The national parks and wild life were amazing. Transport and logistic went smoothly and we were lucky to have such a wonderful group to share this experience with and our tour leader was awesome.

Overall this was a good holiday and we saw a great deal of South Africa with a patient and informative guide. It involved 5 whole days, and some hours on most other days, on the bus, which was quite cramped. The safari trips were fantastic and we learned a lot about South Africa en route.

What an awesome experience! Really nice to share it with other families with similar age children. Everyone bonded and we all shared quite an adventure. The itinerary allows for little downtime, but the early mornings were all worth it. Great cultural and wildlife opportunities!
