In 1988 I got an itch to adventure travel and so I tracked down for some advice. 4 weeks later I found myself in Kashmir trekking through the Himalayas on what was to be a life changing adventure. 24 years later I got yet another itch to seek out the wonders of Vietnam and through experienced yet another ‘time of my life’ on a bicycle trek through Vietnam. W/E provided the expertise, the on ground knowledge and the love in what they do best, to bring 15 strangers together to experience the majesty of the many delights of a beautiful country that is Vietnam. Over 15 days we cycled, sweated, laughed and ate our way from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh city .. and in the process, 15 strangers became 15 friends through a never before never again experience seamlessly staged by the team from WE. The scenery may change but the duty of care from WE is a constant. Go .. adventure …while you can!!

In view of the hot humid climate, the tour guide made regular stops every 20 or 30kms to rehydrate the group and provide some energy food (bananas and biscuits). This made the ride quite bearable. Plenty of free time was available to enjoy the towns/cities that we stayed in.The standard of hotels were good to excellent and generally were in a convenient location close to the town center and other attractions.

Vietnam provided a cultural and sensory experience very different from the western world. Beautiful, welcoming people and scenery. Not being on the tourist trail, we experienced their natural way of life.Beautiful journey.

Our tour guide Hung was amazing! Such a great guy who had a real interest in making sure everyone had a good time.He was also willing to adapt what we did and where we ate based on our feedback. Overall, we got a lot more included (activities, entry to special locations) than we thought. Great value!

I highly recommend the cycling holidays offered by World Expeditions. I have now experienced three countries this way - Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Vietnam. It is a fantastic way to experience a country and its culture, and the support provided by World Expeditions is excellent.

This tour provides a wonderful opportunity to see more of Vietnam than the 'tourist' areas. A great balance of highland riding and coastal beach areas. Support is always on hand and the riding is relatively easy and enjoyable and comfortable (the gel seat is a must, however). Warm, welcoming attitude from locals with colourful landscapes and lots of "hellos" from the kids as you ride past, so friendly! Accommodation is good and meals provided are cultural and satisfying. A great balance of riding and opportunities to see the sights.

Excellent value for money. Interesting mixture of busy cities and small farms. The local families were delightful and some of the scenery was just stunning.

World Expeditions is very well run and guides were excellent. They had contingencies in place for any hurdles we encountered which is inevitable on trips like these. The scenery and diversity of the country, coupled with the smiling faces of it's inhabitants and wonderful food & culture make seeing Vietnam on bike a guaranteed fun-filled adventure. It helped that the whole group got along well which made the trip extra special and some of that credit must go to WWE.
