The Fairest Cape (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Daily)
Start the day by heading up Table Mountain by Cable Car. From the top of this iconic flat topped mountain (3,563 ft) we get stunning views of both the Indian and Atlantic Ocean coasts tapering down to Cape Point. Walk along the paths in any direction and the views are amazing. Our guide will explain the geological history of the western Cape and the climatic and geomorphic reasons why this is the world's largest floral kingdom with more species of plant life than the Amazon Rain Forest.

We then set out for Cape Point stopping en-route to visit a colony of Emperor penguins who have taken over a small community and colonized its beach and coastline! Cape Point is also a world class Nature Reserve and features a wide variety of fauna and flora unique to this part of the world. At the Point you can walk up to the lighthouse, which for over 200 years served as a beacon to warn sailors of the treacherous shoals along the False Bay coast. From here the foggy melding of the warm Indian and cold Atlantic can be seen - the only place on earth where one can see Oceans meeting from land. After lunch at a local seafood restaurant, Return to Cape Town on the Atlantic side following the route along the famed Chapman's Peak as well as the picturesque suburbs of Noordhoek, Hout Bay and Llundudno.

We'll get a sense of how the Cape Town Metro area spreads itself along the narrow corridor between mountain and Ocean on the Atlantic side and into the broad flats on the Indian Ocean or "southern" side. The dominating and dividing effect of the mountain carries over into the unique social culture of the place with its highly localized accents and communities. In less than a day you'll see why Cape Town is regarded as one of the finest places in the world to live and work.
